(24 December 2022) I believe a future technology vital to espionage and to the dissolving of privacy will be what I call Flies-on-the-Wall, tiny aerial devices based on the mosquito and equipped with a plethora of monitoring equipment, such as cameras. Their existence is entirely contingent on the minimal size of technology. They will be controlled not by people but by AI, as I doubt anyone could perform the maneuvering properly.
I imagine a swarm being deployed on enemy cities, splitting up and moving to positions of governance, then lingering in the rooms of every notable person, catching wind of every going-on of the enemy. This could also be done to the general populace. 3D scans could be made of the whole world, including the insides of rooms, with great detail.
I hate the concept of malicious nanotechnology digging itself into your nostrils or ears.
